2024 Summer Internship

The first project I was assigned was to design and put together a 1”-80’ scale model of Calhoun Street in downtown Charleston. LS3P was designing three buildings along this street, and this model was to be presented to the Charleston Board of Architectural Review to aid in the visualization of the buildings’ respective scales in comparison with the surrounding buildings, roads, and coastline. This model was completed in collaboration with Caroline Woodard.

During the summer of 2024, I worked as an Architecture Intern within the Multi-Family Department at the Charleston, SC branch of LS3P Associates Ltd. During this internship, I helped with numerous projects, and my contributions mostly consisted of editing Revit models, creating 3-D print and laser cut files, and assembling physical models.

I also assisted with the Conceptual and DD presentation packages of the renovation and preservation of 174 King Street. This historical building, once a 16th-century ice cream parlor and women’s club, was to be converted into a cafe and welcome center for American Gardens, a new Parisian-style park set to be completed on the 250th anniversary of the United States’ independence. In addition to aiding with final presentations and red-lines, I created a collaged streetscape elevation of King Street to illustrate what the completed park might look like next to the existing buildings.

My other large assignment was to create laser cut and 3-D print files based off of a SketchUp model. These files were then executed and assembled to create a 1”-8’ scale facade model of a newly designed apartment building at 295 Calhoun Street in downtown Charleston. This model would be used as a visual aid for the firm’s presentation of their design to the Board of Architectural Review.
